Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take?
Most folks get the black and white with shading option. The just-marker drawings are also a big hit and can be the right choice when speed or budget is important. Color is usually chosen when the budget isn't a big concern, since color drawings take longer.
What's the fee?
$150 per hour, two hour minimum (parking or travel may be extra). I'll send you an invoice and will need a $150 deposit in order to hold the date. Payment is usually done online by credit card (I don't have access to your card, the payment is processed securely by Square.) I can also send your invoice via PayPal if you prefer. The balance will be due on the day of event, by card or cash. Thank you!!!
What kind of drawing paper do you use?
I use white card stock paper, cut to 11x14", which is a standard frame size. Each drawing goes into a clear, flat poly bag.
How far do you travel?
I work in the Greater Delaware Valley area.
How do I arrange a booking?
Email with your info:
- Date of the party
- Approximate times
- Location of the party
- Black and white or color drawings
- Indoors or outdoors
- If I should expect a possibility of overtime
- I'm pretty flexible to adapt to changes to schedules for weddings or other complicated events. I only book one event per day, so little changes don't upset me.
What will you need?
I'll need two folding type chairs for your guests, an electrical outlet for my light and enough space for me and my easel.
If I'll be outdoors, I'll need full shade such as a tent/canopy, a porch with full shade or a large shade tree, and an outlet if it will be getting dark. I'm flexible, but I do need to get away from direct sun depending on the weather and heat.

What about Covid?
Some folks need to wear a mask, and they usually take it off just long enough to get their drawing done. It usually works out just fine. I'm flexible for our guests needs. I may go back to mask wearing this winter again if it seems right. It's been so nice to not wear one!!!
How do you handle the line cut-off at the end of a large party/event?
When I work at a large event where there are more people than I can draw, eventually the line must get closed. I try to keep an eye on the line and get out there and count off my line so that no one waits without getting drawn. I'm not perfect, but I do my best to keep everyone informed. Often the guests in line will help me do this.
How do I contact you?
You can fill out the form below, call or email. Please include the date, location and approximate times of the party.
Do you draw cartoons?
No, I draw detailed quick sketch portraits showing the head, neckline and sometimes a collar or shoulders, depending on the pose. This is what I love to do; it's what comes naturally to me, and people really love to be drawn in this way.
Please include the date, approx. time and location of your special event
